This is not a privacy policy. It is the way the site is built, and it can be verified.
Nothing leaves
Your file is read by the browser, processed by the browser, and returned by the browser. No request goes out during processing. Open the network inspector and look: the list stays empty.
Nothing is kept
The file lives in memory, for the life of the tab. None of your files is written to your disk: the only one that lands there is the result you download. The site itself does keep its own pages inside your browser so it can work offline, and a button in the settings panel wipes the preferences it saved; the offline copy is cleared from your browser's own site data settings. Close the tab and nothing is left of what you processed.
Nothing reaches us
We have no server that receives files, so we have nothing to lose, nothing to sell and nothing to have stolen from us. The site is a set of static files: it knows how to do nothing except let itself be read.
And it is proven by machine
Before every release, a lock drives a real browser, drops a real file on every tool page, and counts the requests that go out during processing. If a single one goes out, publication is refused. Not flagged: refused. It is not a promise, it is a test that passes or breaks.
What your photo says about you
A photo taken on a phone often carries the date, the time down to the second, the model of the device, and the exact coordinates of where you were standing. You have never seen it, because nothing ever shows it to you. Drop a photo in: you are about to see it. Then clean it, and download the clean copy.

The tool shows the GPS coordinates in plain text and sends them to NO map service: opening a map would be a request to a third-party server, and this site makes none.

Why this project exists
Type “compress an image” or “merge PDFs” into a search engine. You land on sites covered in adverts, with several fake “Download” buttons before the real one, and a form asking you to upload your file. That file is sometimes a contract, an identity document, a family photo, a payslip.
Those sites do not need your file to do the job. Browsers have been able to do all of this for years: read an image, redraw it, re-encode it, encrypt, hash, read a PDF. The upload does not serve the engineering, it serves the business model.
The Workbench does the same job without ever receiving anything. It belongs to the Digital programme of the ODERSA association: making these everyday gestures possible without putting yourself at risk.

What we count
These numbers are counted when the site is built, never copied by hand. They also live as open data.
